"Capturing the Spirit"

CELEBRATING 28 YEARS IN DOWNTOWN RALSTON!

Heading for the Door...

"Sandhill Crane Rest Stop" 9x12 oil on linen panel

Hello again and a special warm welcome to my new subscribers! Yes, that's right...I'm heading for the Door...Door County that is! After missing last year due to hubby Don's heart surgery, I'm so excited to be invited back again to the Door County Plein Air Festival. Door County, Wisconsin, is such a beautiful place with so much variety of subject matter to paint. You can follow my adventures on my Facebook and Instagram pages. You can check out the schedule of events and the invited artists for the festival HERE.

Above is "Sandhill Crane Rest Stop" a small 9x12 oil just finished this week. It will be available through the Cathedral Arts Invitational in Omaha, Nebraska next month. Opening Reception is Thursday, August 21st, 5 pm to 8 pm (Castle and Cathedral Creative District Art Walk) , Sunderland Gallery, 3900 Webster St. Show runs through Sunday, October 12, 2025

"Spring Day on the Platte" 8x16 oil on linen panel - SOLD!

We'll return from Door County and turn right around and head to Hamilton, Montana, for the opening week festivities of the American Impressionist Society's 26th Annual National Juried Exhibition. The painting above, Spring Day on the Platte, will be featured in the exhibition...and it is already sold to a wonderful collector! You can view the entire AIS show online HERE. If you happen to be in the Hamilton area, please come to the opening reception on August 1st from 5 to 7pm at Cassens Fine Art.

"Ranch Life" 20x24 oil on linen panel

I've been busy at the easel this week and this is another new painting just finished. "Ranch Life" was painted from photos I took in western Nebraska, southwest of Scottsbluff. This one is on hold for a juried exhibition, so stay tuned. If you're interested, let me know...if it is accepted into the exhibition, I can connect you with the show's host gallery.

Well, we're literally ready to hit the road and head to Door County as soon as I send this out. I hope you will follow along on my social media channels as I paint with 36 other outstanding artists from across the country!

We sincerely appreciate your friendship and support. You make it possible for us to keep creating and bringing some joy to our corner of the world...for that we are so grateful. We hope to see you in the gallery or in a class soon!

Creatively yours,

Debra Joy and Don Groesser

If you feel so inclined, (and we hope you do!) please scan the QR code below and you can vote. We've been among the top three winners for every year since our gallery opened in 2018, and have won First Place twice. We'd love to hit First Place in the metro area again.
